What is Public Liability?

When you go onto land or into buildings that are owned or occupied by someone else, the occupiers of the land have a duty of care to ensure any visitor is safe whilst on their premises. This includes visitors to offices, shops, retail shopping centres, leisure facilities, homes, parks and workplaces such as factories.

This is known as public liability. What it means is that if the occupier of the land has neglected their duty to visitors, who are consequently injured on the land because of the owner's neglect, the victim may be entitled to claim compensation.

What Will Steele Ford & Newton Do for Me?

As the responsibility for the accident will often be with the owner of the land or premises where the accident occurred, we will investigate matters for you. We will aim to show that the owner or occupier had a legal responsibility to try and stop the risk of the accident occurring.

Where we can prove you were injured because this duty was breached, we will bring an accident claim for compensation on your behalf.
